Supporting the Peldon Rose family

It’s #mentalhealthawarenessweek - Did you know one in four people will experience mental health problems in any given year? We’re all living in a truly unique environment, and now more than ever it’s important to raise awareness and support our people.
Here are some of the great initiatives we have seen across our team to support the wellbeing of the Peldon Rose family.
Communication is key – Danielle Ruffell, Head of Marketing
You know what they say, sharing is caring. When we relocated our lives to be based at home, we launched a daily internal email, this provided a two-way channel for the business and employees to share important business updates, and also create a sharing platform for advice, hints tips on everything from exercise, books, podcasts and talk about topics such as how to maintain your mental health. We have over 60% daily open rates, and lots of positive feedback and input from around the team.
Keep on moving – Alan Jamieson, COO
Exercise is great way to support mental health. We know it’s relative, and not all types of exercise suit everyone. Our weekly run club has gone from strength to strength, the design team host HIIT sessions three times a week, and a weekly yoga class, we’ve managed to transition our physical activities virtually and options in place to support the workforce.
Cycle to Work Scheme – Aaron Antoine, IT
Last month we joined Cyclescheme, supporting all employees to purchase a bike of their own, great for exercise and mental wellbeing, but also a great option to commute as we start to gear up for return to work. Plus, all cycling goes towards our infamous Strava leader board…
Employee Assistance Programme - Josephine Potter, People and Talent
Our employees all have access to an Employee Assistance Programme by BUPA 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. To support mental health, members have access to structured short-term counselling, various online resources, and online cognitive behavioural therapy, plus access to legal, financial, family care helplines, as well as access to a general helpline for support.
We felt a scheme like this was vital to support the wellbeing of our employees at a heightened time. We’ve also launched the BestCompanies Pulse Survey, which will allow employees to share their feedback to the business and leadership team.
Tea point catch up – Sophie Rutter, Front of House
We’re all missing the office, it’s been over eight weeks since the Peldon Rose family have been together, and our tea and coffee point is a hub for conversation where people meet for a daily catch up. On Friday 22 May, we’re hosting a mid-morning ‘tea point catch up’ to raise awareness for mental health, and check in on our colleagues.
